DIY Happy Birthday Cake Bunting

Happy Birthday Cake Bunting
(Free templates included)

Ever iced a cake and wish you had an extra something to add - step in Birthday Cake Bunting!

This cute DIY cake accessory is perfect for any birthday - and we have included templates below for both boy / girl colours & styles.

You'll need:
 - One of our free templates (see below)
 - Two small skewers (cut the longer ones if necessary)
 - Some string

Firstly, print one of the templates and cut out the flags.
The coloured part folds over the white part with the string in the centre.

Tip: Save time and make folds in the paper prior to cutting, so you don't have to do the individual flags later.

Tie string to skewers and place in cake.

Tip: I found the string I used was a little too think and it was quite fiddly. Good idea to either pull the strands apart on thick string and use half the thickness.

Optional extras:

 - Use small pegs as further accessories on the sides of the skewers.

 - Stick a lolly on top of the skewer such as a raspberry.

 - Feeling extra ambitious? Skewer a musk stick and use these as your poles to your bunting.

  1. Just wanted to say thanks!! I love to make fancy birthday cakes for my two girls. With their birthdays being just a week apart and everything else that goes with birthday parties it's a real push for time.
Thanks to your birthday bunting I can do a really simple cake and it will look fabulous just with this popped on the top! A real time saver! Thank you! Karen
